JoR

These are collaborative pieces my friend Rita and I created, painting together on the same canvas at the same time.  We sign our pieces as JoR.

The first was on the side of the road in Rancho Cuyamaca State Park in March.  It was a lot colder than we expected, and it started snowing on us significantly.  We left the drip marks to keep part of the experience in the painting.  Acrylic on 12" x 16" canvas sheet.

The second was at the marina on Harbor Island a couple months ago.  We overheard that the man cleaning the boat was preparing to sell it.  When we finished the painting, we called out to him and asked if he'd like to keep it.  He told us he'd sailed across the Pacific in it with his family, raised his kids on it for almost two decades, and recently sailed it back with them.  He kept our painting as a memento.  Acrylic on 16" x 20" canvas sheet.

The third was on the bluffs over the tide pools at Cabrillo National Monument a few weeks ago.  The weather was breezy, and at this point it's like playing music together.  It's an absolute delight every time, and I can't wait to create something together again when we find the chance to.  Acrylic on 16" x 20" canvas sheet.
